Domaine Pierrick Bouley Description
One of the new talents of the Côte de Beaune, Pierrick Bouley is a name you're going to hear a lot more about in the years to come. Of course, Bouley hasn't courted the media spotlight as assiduously as some of his contemporaries; instead, he's been hard at work in the vineyards. He presides over some 9.6 hectares, divided into more than 40 parcels.
Wine Advocate: 89 Points
Exhibiting aromas of dark berries and forest floor, the 2020 Monthélie Aux Fournereaux is medium to full-bodied, with good depth at the core, powdery tannins and chalky grip on the finish.
Burghound: 88 Points
Slightly riper aromas include those of poached plum, black raspberry coulis and soft earth hints. There is both good vibrancy and richness to the medium-bodied flavors that are presently somewhat compact and in need of better depth on the moderately austere finale. This should nicely repay a few years of cellaring.
Vinous: 86-88 Points
The 2020 Monthélie Aux Fournereaux has quite a high-toned bouquet with iodine-tinged red and blue fruit that feel quite exuberant. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, quite saturated tannins. This feels quite candied in style, maybe just a little too sweet on the finish? I suspect it will muster more composure once in bottle.
