Burghound: 89 Points
Here the nose is very ripe yet not roasted with its somber and decidedly deeply pitched nose of roasted plum, warm earth and a hint of the sauvage. There is fine mid-palate density to the robust, muscular and powerful medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a firmly tannic and overtly rustic finale. This is very Pommard-like with fine development potential, yet if you don't wish to wait, it could be enjoyed young with the right foods.
Wine Advocate: 88 Points
Offering up aromas of sweet red berries and cherries, mingled with hints of forest floor, the 2018 Pommard Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, with powdery tannins, succulent acids and a pretty core of fruit. It has turned out nicely in bottle.
Vinous: 87 Points
The 2018 Pommard Les Vieilles Vignes offers dark berry, earthy fruit with touches of raisin coming through with aeration. This seems to be a little over-ripe for a Pommard. The palate is medium- bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, bitter cherry and white pepper furnishing the mid-palate with a structure finish that needs more grace and elegance.
