From its foundation in the early nineties, the La Fiorita Estate has always sought to perfect the longevity and aromatic complexity of its Brunello to illustrate the magical harmony between the diverse terroirs, climate and Sangiovese grape - the Star of Montalcino.
Parallel to the organization of the vineyard, in early 2018 owner, Natalie Oliveros, started the construction of a new winemaking and cellaring facility which stands on the original site of the La Fiorita Estate. This two-level gravity-fed Cantina – aesthetically designed – was completed in time for the 2019 harvest welcoming all four vineyards. This was the only way to preserve the authentic expression of each soil independently from the others. Once the wines have aged the proper time in large barrels, they are selected to bring the right harmony into the blends of the La Fiorita Brunello. This new era is now cementing the deep foundation for an exciting future and generations to come.

The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva opens with a darkly floral display, as a dusting of exotic spice and dried orange give way to cedar shavings and wild strawberries. It begins with a pretty inner sweetness, casting silken textures across a stream of vibrant acidity as red and blue fruits swirl throughout. The 2018 tapers off with tension as the finish comes together with savory herbs and the mouth is left watering for more, even as grippy tannins pinch at the cheeks. The La Fiorita has always been one of elegance, which this has, but what truly shines is its nervy personality.

The La Fiorita 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva has dried flowers and blackcurrant with rose potpourri and autumnal leaf. The wine feels almost fragile in consistency with fine, powdery tannins and a high 15% alcohol content.
