Domaine Jean-François Coche-Dury Description
From a 0.25ha parcel (0.6175 acres) planted in 1987
Vinous: 91 Points
The 2019 Monthélie Village is a little more backward on the nose compared to the Auxey-Duresses, well defined but just a bit timid at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, nicely structured with dark berry fruit towards the finish.
Wine Advocate: 90+ Points
From a west-facing plot in lieu-dit Champs Fulliot, Coche's 2019 Monthélie unfurls to reveal aromas of wild berries, sweet spices, coniferous forest floor and petals. Medium to full-bodied, racy and precise, it's concentrated and bright, with powdery tannins and a more tightly knit profile than the domaine's other reds this year.
Burghound: 89 Points
A slightly more elegant and certainly spicier nose features mostly red berries and a hint of exotic tea. The beautifully detailed middle weight flavors aren't quite as dense but they're finer with excellent punch to the delicious, refreshing and slightly firmer finale that exhibits sneaky good length. This is also very good for its level.
