Domaine Grosbois Description
This vineyard of two hectares (1ha = 2.47 acres), situated in the municipality of L’île Bouchard, east of Panzoult is planted on a slab of limestone and in close proximity of the Vienne. The roots are established directly in the tuffeau (local yellow limestone), this chalky topsoil, that we can touch and which brings freshness, acidity and grip to the wine. It is another expression of the Chinon appellation, only four kilometers (2.5 miles) from the Pressoir (wine press), a historical site of the domaine, however with a different geological composition.
An opening of length and delicacy. A crunchy sensation from the whole-crushed grapes. Freshness and sharpness from the fruit. This wine has a serious side and a generous mouthfeel from the cabernet. Nose: A bouquet of wild strawberries, white flowers and liquorice, with a hint of cacao.
