Finca La Capilla Description
Finca La Capilla was founded in 1998 as Bodegas Robeal by Juan Miñón. The winery began with the planting of 160 acres of Tempranillo across the municipalities of Roa de Duero, Anguix, La Horra, and Fuentecén, along with the construction of a 2000-barrel winery in Roa de Duero, the hub of the Ribera del Duero denomination.
In 2019, the esteemed Rioja winery Marqués de Cáceres took control of the winery. Bodegas Finca La Capilla also benefits from the extensive experience of the Forner family, developed through their Bordeaux Grand Cru Classé, their Rioja and Rueda wineries, and their presence in international markets. The project is further supported by the expertise of its winery professionals in Rioja, who have consistently demonstrated their ability to achieve dynamic excellence and international prestige.
Tasting Note: A deep-coloured full-bodied wine, luscious and velvety in the glass. Intense nose, with sensations of fruity freshness wrapped in very integrated wood that complements, without overshadowing, the fullness of the Tinta del País varietal in Ribera del Duero. In the mouth the wine is crisp, vivacious and elegantly sophisticated, showing touches of creaminess and toasted notes. Rounded and dense tannins. Both subtle and refined. Perfect for drinking now whilst offering the potential for several years of ageing in bottle.

The 2020 La Capilla Crianza is 100% Tempranillo that was aged for 14 months in French oak. Red fruit jam, forest floor and a hint of clear oak appear on the nose, with vanilla and caramel following. The palate is indulgent, showing ripe fruit and slightly reactive tannins. It finishes with moderate length and a sense of softness. A well-crafted wine from somewhat uncertain fruit.
