Offering up aromas of cherries and smoky berries, the 2022 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits is medium-bodied, lively and layered, attaining an impressive 13.6% natural alcohol, something that would have been unthinkable in this appellation only a decade ago.

The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge Hautes Côtes de Nuits comes from fruit from towards Comblanchien. Dark berry fruit on the nose commingles with light truffle scents. The palate is medium-bodied and quite powerful, with a light spiciness. It has perhaps the most opulent finish of the three Hautes-Côtes. Fine.

A more complex nose features notes of violet, anise and red and dark currant scents. The succulent yet nicely detailed flavors possess a subtle minerality that becomes more apparent on the youthfully austere and balanced finale that could use better depth.
