Domaine Sérol Description
This cuvée is similar to Les Originelles in that it is from a blend of different vineyards and that the amount produced and vineyards that it is sourced from vary from year to year. Its identity comes from the granitic soils in each terroir and the older vine ages. More entrenched vine root systems add depth and complexity and the granite soils are the hallmark of the Sérol's terroir.

The 2022 Eclat de Granite comes from Côte Roannaise, which sits far apart from the rest of the Loire Valley's vineyards, closer to Beaujolais than Sancerre and its red grape is Gamay. Sitting at altitude and from old vines, this wine is juicy and rich yet refreshing. It is young and vibrant with a purple-pink hue that abounds in primary red and black fruit and a lick of spice. Smooth, succulent and smashable, this is a wine you'll want to drink a lot of--and there's no need to wait with its low, resolved tannin structure. At just 12.5% alcohol, it is wonderfully modest in alcohol too. A delightful find.
