Domaine Rapet Père et Fils Description
The Rapet family estate has a history going back almost three centuries. A treasured "tastevin" (wine-taster) dating from 1765, on which the family name appears, is carefully kept from generation to generation. Vincent, the grandson of Robert and son of Roland, along with his wife, Sylvette, are now hard at work managing the estate.
A great red Burgundy wine located in the commune of Savigny-les-Beaune. The grape variety is Pinot Noir. This vine is over 50 years old. The name of the climat "Aux Fournaux" is due to the presence of coal furnaces, the remains of which have been found.
This commune is very important due to its size and its many renowned climates. Our Savigny-les-Beaune comes from the "Les Fournaux" climate, characterized by deep, ferruginous soil. Savigny-les-Beaune is delicate and discreetly tannic.
The premier cru is the upper part of this large plot, the soil is poorer and less humid than the part classified as village at the bottom of the hill, the tannins are finer and they develop more length in the mouth.
Tasting Note: colorful, elegant, and quite powerful, marked by a dominant morello cherry, blackcurrant, and raspberry aromas, evolving into undergrowth after a few years.
Wine Pairing: well with red and white meats or game birds.
Vinous: 92 Points
Burghound: 90 Points
Wine Advocate: 88 Points
The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Fourneaux offers up aromas of plums, cherries and sweet new oak, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and lively palate underpinned by tangy acids.
