Domaine Pierre Vessigaud Description
Family owned and operated for five generations, Domaine Vessigaud is a small wine estate located in the village of Pouilly in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, in the south of Bourgogne in the Mâconnais. They cultivate 5 hectares of Pouilly-Fuissé, 3 hectares of Mâcon-Fuissé, 1 hectare of Mâcon-Charnay and even 1 hectare of Saint-Amour. The quality of the wine is not only determined by its taste, but also by the methods used to produce it. This is why we are committed to organic farming practices; our vines do not receive any synthetic herbicides or pesticides.
A small parcel at an altitude of 350m, facing due east and next to the lieu-dit "Les Tâches". The limestone clay soil which is rocky and very stony is reddish in color. It is an excellent terroir, producing low yields and wines that age well which possess a natural purity and minerality.
