Domaine Ostertag Description
The southeast facing Zellberg vineyard is located on the mid-slopes in the village of Nothalten on a soil of clay, limestone, and the pink sandstone of the Vosges that gives fat, sensual wines with delicate aromas. The estate’s 0.45 hectares are planted to Pinot Gris.

The 2021 Pinot Gris Zellberg, from Triassic sandstone, was fermented and aged in used pièce. Smooth, fruity smoke hovers above peach compote on the nose. The nose is still rather closed, but the palate offers smooth, flowing, bright freshness, all buffered, all smoothed in greengage and Reine Claude plum juiciness with a lovely, long lemon finish. This strikes a great balance. (Bone-Dry)
