Domaine Michel Lafarge Description
From a single parcel of 40+ year old vines in Petit Pré which was once classified as Volnay villages
Wine Advocate: 89 Points
The 2020 Bourgogne Pinot Noir offers up notes of sweet berry fruit, orange rind, spices and smoke, followed by a medium-bodied, bright and lively palate that's fine-boned and elegant, concluding with a perfumed finish.
Burghound: 87-90 Points
This is also wonderfully fresh with its cool and pretty aromas of essence of red pinot fruit, spice and a more subtle suggestion of newly turned earth. There is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delicious middle weight flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the strikingly complex and lengthy finish. Like the Anthologie, it's rare to find this level of quality in a regional wine plus it should repay 5 to 8 years of keeping. Highly recommended.
Vinous: 86-88 Points
The 2020 Bourgogne Pinot Noir has quite a backward nose, darker fruit than some of its peers, though well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, good backbone here, also quite "strict" in style (in a Pommard kinda way). This might age better than you think.
