Domaine Dujardin Description
Domaine Dujardin, nestled in the picturesque village of Monthélie, in the Côte de Beaune, is a unique and storied winery in Burgundy. The estate’s journey began with Ulrich Dujardin, a wine enthusiast who “arrived” in Monthélie for the grape harvest. Encouraged by his wife, Catherine, he decided to turn his passion into a profession. After training with a local winemaker and dedicating ten years to learning the craft, Ulrich established Domaine Dujardin. Today, the estate is managed by the next generation—Paul and Margaux—who oversee the 8-hectare vineyard with the same passion their parents instilled in them.
Domaine Dujardin’s wine portfolio is focused on the village of Monthélie, featuring renowned climats like Les Champs Fulliot, La Goulotte, and Les Vignes Rondes. These wines, particularly the Monthélie 1er Cru, are known for their powerful aromas of red and black fruits, balanced tannins, and remarkable aging potential. The estate also has small plots in neighboring appellations such as Meursault and Auxey-Duresses for Chardonnay, as well as Pinot Noir in Beaune and Aligoté in Bouzeron. The wines from these regions are highly regarded for their finesse and elegance.
The Monthelie is a blend of grapes coming from three differents vineyards "Les longenes", Les sous le cellier" et "Les Jouerres".
