Wine Advocate: 91 Points
The 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé La Verchère Vieilles Vignes is rich and dramatic, bursting with aromas of citrus oil, crisp orchard fruit, peaches and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, textural and enveloping, with a ripe core of fruit, succulent acids and an expansive finish, it's a muscular, concentrated wine that is already very demonstrative.
Burghound: 91 Points
Moderate wood sets off ripe if mildly reduced aromas so a thorough aeration would be in order. Otherwise, there is fine volume to the rich, round and delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess very good mid-palate density, all wrapped in a lingering, sappy and well-balanced bitter lemon rind-inflected finale.
Vinous: 88-90 Points
The 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé La Verchère Vieilles Vignes has a comparatively lighter, airier bouquet compared to the En Buland and feels as if it just needs more fruit expression. The palate also shows the warmth of the summer more than its peers with passion fruit, pineapple and light mango notes. It misses some acidity and nervosité towards the finish and as such, I suspect that this will suit more for early drinking.
