Château Barréjat Description

The commune of Maumusson is home to 40 hectares of Château Barrejat vines, which are almost 80 years old! The estate has been run by four generations, with Denis arriving in 1992. At the heart of the Madiran appellation, the estate has made a name for itself, collecting a number of medals and awards! The vines are worked in the traditional way, and since 1960, the estate has been grassed over. The soils are maintained using exclusively natural methods. Harvesting is done by hand, and yields are limited to 55 hl/ha. All these conditions add up to make great wines. In 1966, a structure was built to receive the grapes, along with an underground barrel cellar. In 1992, Denis Capmartin moved into the Château and produced 4 top-quality cuvées, which soon gained recognition. Located in the heart of the Gers region, the vineyards practice and defend traditional viticulture.

Tasting Note: Wine with aromas of red fruits with intense colors, melted tannins which give a mouth that is both fleshy and structured. A well-balanced wine which can be drunk young or kept for 6 to 10 years
