Champagne Jacquesson Description
Founded in 1798, Champagne Jacquesson, in Dizy, was acquired by the Pinault family in 2022. The property has Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, in the Grande Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs. Always innovative and keen to produce the best possible champagne every year, Jacquesson created the “700” cuvée in the early 2000s, which reflects both the character of a vintage and gives free expression to its prestigious terroirs.
In the 19th century, the House experienced a boom of growth. At the origin of this golden age was Adolphe Jacquesson, an inspired director and visionary inventor. In 1844, he revolutionized the champagne trade by patenting the “muselet”, the small wire still used today to hold the cork in place.
At the time, he also contributed to transforming champagne production techniques with the famous Jules Guyot. Under Adolphe Jacquesson’s leadership, a certain Johann Joseph Krug served as cellar master before founding the eponymous house.
A Dégorgement Tardif bottling saw 89 months of aging sur lie.
743 DT is based on the 2015 vintage and disgorged March 2024.
Dosage is 0gm/L
Vinous: 94 Points
Sculpted and precise, the NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 743 Dégorgement Tardif (base 2015) impresses with its tension. There's a touch of reduction that further adds to the wine's freshness. All the elements are so well balanced. Lemon confit, candied ginger, spice and tangerine peel are some of the many nuances that take shape with a bit of air. Extended time on the lees softened this quite nicely.
Finished with no dosage.
Disgorged: March 2024.
