Bordeaux MapFor those serious about collecting great wines, we believe that this section of our site will be a fantastic resource. Purchasing Bordeaux on presale or, en-primeur, provides access to an even greater selection of wines, often at substantial discounts from their final release prices.

There are a few things to know about purchasing futures:

  • We ask that you purchase a minimum of 4 bottles of any wine (or 6 if ordering half-bottles or 2 for first-growths)
  • Most producers also offer bottle formats other than 750ml, including half bottles (375ml), magnums (1.5 litres), double magnums (3 litres), and sometimes even 4.5 or 9.0 litre sizes - which are not specifically listed on our offer sheet. There is a slight up-charge when selecting these other formats - and we do require that any bottle size not listed on the offer sheet be ordered by the full case. There will generally be 24 halves, 6 magnums, or 3 double magnum bottles to each "case". Please call the store if you are interested in pricing or availabilty of any of these alternate sizes.
  • We will send you an invoice upon receipt of your order. Payment is requested by check or cash only within 30 days of your order to secure your wine.
  • Wines will begin arriving starting in the Spring of their release year (3 years from the wine's vintage, eg. 2018 wines will be delivered to the store starting in April of 2021) and we will contact you when they are ready for collection.

So: here we go! Over the next several weeks we will be seeing many Bordeaux producers declaring their prices for the 2018 vintage. We will be sending out emails to customers as the offers arrive. Futures are a great way to secure wines now that may no longer be available in later years. It's also the perfect opportunity to stock up on wines for a 2018 birth year, anniversary, special occasions, or wines for longer term cellaring.

Our very own Allison Conner attended the events of En Primeur in France this year, and she reports that the 2018s are already showing signs of remarkable quality. Producers were comparing it to other exceptional vintages like 1989, 2010, and 2016. A couple of new wines are being released this year. This is the first year that Cos d'Estournel will be releasing a white wine under their Pagodes de Cos label. It's also important to note that Chateau Palmer will not be releasing the Alter Ego this year due to a lower yield. In the attached offering we see the first major Bordeaux estate, Angelus, declare and it seems like they are making a sagacious move by lowering their pricing reflective of the 2015 vintage.

If you have any other questions regarding the vintage please don't hesitate to ask.

Each cumulative 2018 Vintage offer will be posted here:

2018 Bordeaux Futures (Final offer of 2018!)

Offers for the 2017 Vintage Campaign are now complete, and pre-sales are closed. We have a limited number of bottles that have not been spoken for, but which we have already committed to purchase. These will be listed on the document below, and will be updated as we have time.  These few remaining listings may be purchased as single bottles while supplies last.

Remaining 2017 Vintage offers are posted here:

2017 Bordeaux Futures Remaining

If you are still interested in purchasing futures for the 2017 Vintage, please contact the store by phone at 713-524-3397 or by email and we can let you know exactly which bottles are currently still available.

The 2016 Vintage has now begun arriving in store and the 2015 wines are mostly here.

We will contact you when your wines are ready for collection.

The remains of these vintages will be found on the shelf at regular retail pricing.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by phone or email.  If you choose to email, we ask that you include "Bordeaux Futures" in the subject line.
