William Chris Vineyards Description
Since 2010 this wine has been an ode to the best variety of aromatic wine grapes from all of Texas. This graceful white blend pays homage to Mary Ruth, the beloved matriarch of William Chris. Mother to founder William "Bill" Blackmon, without her love and support, Bill would have never planted his first vintage of Texas grapes. The high elevation out West is prime for coaxing balance out of the majority of white grape varieties of Texas, while Darst Ranch Vineyard in Austin County far East is planted solely to Blanc du Bois, which can withstand the humid and warm conditions there. Together, they all represent all of Texas.
Tasting Note: Fresh citrus and floral notes from the Malvasia Bianca. Minerality and structure from the Sauvignon Blanc. Waxiness and weight from the Semillon.
