Strong “cider apple” aroma that follows through on the palate, a sort of intensified cider taste. The finish is smooth due to the long ageing methods. The Pommeau de Normandie is usually served as an apéritif, but is equally delicious with foie gras or melon.
Pere Jules Description
The Domain Le Pere Jules is located in the village of Saint Desir, at the heart of Pays d'Auge in Normandy. The family estate was created by the great Grand Father Jules, in 1919. It has been run, generation after generation in the same philosophy of terroir and tradition. Hand harvested, non pasteurized with a very light filtration, their ciders are top of what have been done in Normandy for centuries.
Pommeau de Normandie is a produced by blending young Calvados (Apple brandy) with the must of fresh apples to a strength of 17%. This blend is then wood aged for a minimum of three years, though this Le Pere Jules bottling has seen more than five years in oak
