Luis Pato - Informal Rosado 2015 (750ml)
Very fine mousse and a nose of strwberries. Suprisingly weighty on the pallate with slightly bready notes. An outstanding value.

The 2015 Espumante "Informal" (with a crown cap, it's very informal . . .) is a Baga disgorged on March 4, 2022, after 72 months on the lees. It comes in at 12.6% alcohol. The disgorgement date is happily now on the label. Despite being longer on the lees and an older vintage but also with added sulfites, it is fresher and purer than the Vinha Pan sparkler. That latter is more oxidative in style, while this seems young. Nicely done but not nearly as expressive or as intense, this is a good deal that walks down the middle of the road. Pato says this can age well under crown cap, even though, um, it looks very informal.
