Alessandro Speri is a fifth generation winemaker from Italy. He sees himself as a prodigal son in the sense that he left the family winery in Valpolicella to find his own Estate in Uco Valley, Mendoza. The combination of high altitude and distinct soil give the wines more savory flavors, dusty tannins and layered black fruit.
This 50/50 blend of Malbec and Bonarda is perfect pairing with anything from the grill. The nose is redolent with raspberry, plum, bramble and a touch of balsamic and these flavors follow through on the taste. The tannins are light. The Bonarda helps to lighten the Malbec's tannin and weight without compromising the flavor. I immediately thought this would be a great classic cheeseburger wine.

The 2023 Malbec-Bonarda is a 50/50 blend of Uco Valley Malbec and Bonarda from Medrano. It mixes clear red fruit aromas of raspberry and fresh plum with a subtle balsamic note. Soft, juicy and cheerful on the palate, this offers pure, summery fruit flavor.
