Sourced from four parcels: 1er Cru Aux Roueres: Planted in 1947. Southeast-facing, bottom of the slope on shallow topsoil over hard limestone; Le Goti: Planted in 1957. Southeast-facing, bottom of the slope on shallow topsoil over hard limestone; En Creveche: Planted in 1943. Southeast-facing, bottom of the slope on sandstone with iron and silex; and Sur Le Bois: Planted in 1988 and 1989. Southeast-facing, bottom of the slope on sandstone with iron and silex.
Vinous: 89 Points
The 2018 Maranges Village offers crushed strawberry, cranberry and marmalade scents on the nose. Nice definition here. The palate is medium-bodied with firm structure, so masculine, so grippy after the 2019 with just a touch of dry tannins on the spicy finish.
