Cepa 21 Description
Cepa 21 Hito Rosado 2024 is a modern rosé from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. It is a project by Bodegas Cepa 21, a winery founded by José Moro and his siblings (the third generation of the Emilio Moro family) with the aim of creating innovative wines that blend local tradition with a minimalist, forward-thinking approach. The name 'Hito' refers to the stone posts or milestones used to mark boundaries and directions, reflecting the wine's role in guiding the winery's contemporary vision for the Tempranillo variety.
This wine presents a very pale salmon-pink colour that is clean and bright. The sensory profile features a fresh and delicate bouquet dominated by aromas of red fruits, such as raspberries and cherries, enriched by floral notes and a subtle citrus touch. On the palate, it is light, expressive, and very fresh, showcasing balanced acidity and a zesty character that mirrors the nose. Made from 100% Tempranillo, the grapes undergo a brief maceration followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of 14°C for approximately 20 days. The wine is aged on its lees to add texture before bottling.
