Bruno Rocca Description
The Rabajà vineyard was purchased by Bruno’s grandfather in 1958 along with a farmhouse of the same name and is where the heart of the winery still sits today. The Rabajà cru was one of the first benchmark crus of Barbaresco and remains today world renown and always identified with the Bruno Rocca name. The Rocca name will always be linked through this cru to the historical fabric of artisanal Barbaresco production. The wine is enthralling and intense when young like a thoroughbred yearning at the gate.
Tasting Note: Full throttle fruit and juicy ripe tannin conduct a tremendous symphony filled with the intrigue of dark spice, vintage tobacco pouch, and heirloom jam.
Vinous: 97 Points
The 2021 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà is just as impressive as it was last year. Broad, sweeping and dramatic, the 2021 possesses remarkable textural depth and intensity. Dark-toned fruit, leather, spice, menthol, licorice, plum and mocha fill out the wine's broad, expansive frame. This is classic Rabaja. It comes from two parcels from the most south-facing site, one heavy in limestone and the other planted in 1958.
