Astrelles Domaine Les Domaine Description

Domaine Les Astrelles, nestled in the historic village of GevreyChambertin on Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, is a revitalized gem in this legendary winemaking region. Founded in 2019 by JeanMarie and Isabelle Chapier, the estate represents a new chapter for the former Domaine Pierre Naigeon. The Chapiers, combining their medical expertise—Jean-Marie as a biologist and Isabelle as a pharmacist—with a passion for viticulture, have redefined the winery’s legacy. Their journey began in Bergerac, where they first explored winemaking, igniting a deep connection to the craft. Upon acquiring the estate, they renamed it Les Astrelles and expanded its holdings to 14 hectares (34.6 acres) across Gevrey-Chambertin, Marsannay, and Fixin.

Jean-Marie leads the charge as a hands-on investor, assembling a talented team that includes cellar master Julien Millet, who brings experience from the iconic Comte Georges de Vogüé estate, while Isabelle oversees administrative operations.

Domaine Les Astrelles produces approximately 30 wines, from regional favorites like Bourgogne Aligoté to coveted grands crus such as Bonnes-Mares and Mazys-Chambertin. The estate emphasizes organic farming and meticulous vineyard care, focusing on preserving each terroir’s unique expression. Julien Millet’s winemaking philosophy highlights precision and finesse. The red wines are crafted through gentle extractions, using indigenous yeasts and minimal oak aging to capture the elegance of Pinot Noir. The estate’s white wines, fermented in a mix of oak, acacia, and ceramic vessels, showcase vibrancy and complexity.

A blend of five distinct vineyard plots: Reniard, Croix des Champs, Creux Brouillard, En Sylvie, and Meix Bas, spanning from south to north within the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation.

Tasting Note: A wine of great elegance, with a rich texture and aromas of red fruits and floral notes, including cherry, raspberry, violet, and a hint of spice. Displays remarkable intensity and a long, refined finish. The palate is structured and concentrated, yet maintains finesse.
